Will Sew Stitches For Food...

I'm sew super excited that things are coming together for me. I've been blessed!

I'm praying that within the next few months my web site will be up and running. It has been a work in progress for me. I want to thank my supportive sister Larisa for all her encouragement and guidance with all this. Without her I wouldn't have a foot to stand on. I'm thankful to be able to work from home to help support my family. It makes me feel good deep inside that I'll be contributing to our income.

Update on the family: The kids are doing great in school and their grades were fantastic! I'm very proud of them. We are getting a second vehicle within the next week and I coudn't be more happier. I'm giddy like a lil school girl! :)

Well folks, this weather is getting pretty rough so before I loose power I'll end this by saying... I'm sew happy! I thank God above for all my many blessing big and small!

Counting My Many Blessings...

Here lately I have been tuckered out. I realized yesterday it was because I haven't been taking my thyroid pills as I should be. I called the pharmacy and refilled my prescription and this a.m. I took my first one. I know that I should take them daily without fail. It seems like such an easy task to just get up every morning and take them but I end up getting busy with life.

So with all that being said I have another New Years Resolution.... I will take better care of "ME"! For such a long time I've put the needs and wants of others before mine. But lets face it, I'm not getting any younger. I want to be around to rock on the front porch with Bubba when we're old and gray.

Tomorrow will be busy busy for me. I have to get together a fruit tray and drinks and bring them to Rons school and then after that Christmas shopping. Oh what joy! :) Don't get me wrong I do love to shop, it's just fighting the crowds. This year I fell behind, I mean between the economy being like it is and just times getting tougher it's hard to put back money for gifts. I thank God above that my husband will get his first Christmas bonus. I'm counting on that to buy for my babies. On another good note after 5 years.. Tomorrow my vehicle will be paid in full. What a blessing that is for us. It means more repairs being done to our home since Hurricane Ike tore us apart. I'm excited about picking up a paint brush, hanging more sheetrock and finishing up our floors. I count my blessings daily!

God Bless and Happy Holidays to ALL!

A lil winter "spring" cleaning..

I didn't realize just how much clutter I had until yesterday. I moved everything out of my bedroom and was amazed at just how much stuff I had in there. I rearranged my entire bedroom, wiped down my walls, dusted all my trinkets and it feels so much better to be in there. It's my own lil sanctuary. I made a vow to myself yesterday (It's also my New Years Resolution) to stop being such a lil pack rat. I tend to hold on to things either for neccesity or sentimental reasons. My new rule is... If I haven't used it in 6 months get rid of it!! Today I'm going to start on my kitchen. I have a pile stacked up in my front room to give away to Goodwill so I'm sure I'll be adding to it today.

This is also the last week of school before the kids get out for the Holidays. My honey is working all the overtime he can get due to the plant being shut-down for 2 weeks for the Holidays. He has one day off and that's Friday and I have to do the rest of our Christmas shopping, buy groceries, send off packages, and if he feels like it get a couple honey-do's done before he goes back to work Saturday evening. I also have the pleasure of watching my sisters two beautiful babies this upcoming weekend. I can't wait to get them because we are all going to bake cookies and do some arts and crafts. Linsey and T will be making their mommy a Christmas present.. Can't say what it is exactly but she'll love it!

Well I need to finish my coffee, get something laid out for dinner tonight and get started. I'm procrastinating! I think we all do that at some point or another. Wish me luck!

Say Cheese!

So this afternoon I was feeling a lil like Betty Crocker and made the kids a homemade pepperoni-n-cheese pizza for their snack so they'll have it when they come in from school today. I have been in such a baking mood here lately. Perhaps it's the holidays. I learned a lil something about baking cakes off of Food Network and I thought I'd share and it turns out soooo GOOD! Instead of adding your normal ingredients do this instead... Add your cake mix, 2/3 cup of water, 1 stick of melted butter and 3 eggs. Ok, well I'm off to get ready for tonight. Hannah has a choir recital at 6 and I'm running behind. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Toodles,
Sandy

Brotherly Love...

Boy he really loves his big sister! Ron zipping Hannahs coat...

The weather outside is frightful.. The snow was so delightful..

I received a text from my middle sister Larisa Thursday morning around 4:30 a.m. that said.. IT'S SNOWING!!! I got out of bed and ran to the door and sure enough it was. I woke up my children because this is the very first time that they've ever seen snow. Their faces were priceless!! By 5:30 they were outside playing in it... The ground wasn't fully covered but the vehicles, steps etc.. were and they just had a ball. I was so excited to watch them play in it.. I remember having snow once back in our hometown when I was around 5 yrs old. It was a joy to me also. Hopefully we'll get to see it again before Christmas!

My wish list...

Dear Santa,

This year I just want a couple things...

  • I want my family to have all their needs and wants met.
  • Some minor repairs done to the house due to Hurricane Ike.
  • A couple gallons of paint so that I can finish up my dining room.
  • A new whisk!
  • If possible a new digital camera..

I've been a really good girl this year. I'll even bake you your favorite cookies!

Yours Truly,
Sandy
